The live-action film “Masters of the Universe” is continuing to power up as three cast members have joined the Amazon MGM Studios project. EA Sports has once again merged football and music, unveiling the soundtrack for the 25th edition of EA Football Club. This year, the spotlight is on Afrobeats, with Nigerian music stars Rema, Shallipopi, and Omah Lay joining a global lineup of artists. The football video game is set to launch on September 27, 2024. Rema’s hit single 'Benin Boys' featuring Shallipopi, and Omah Lay’s chart-topping track 'Moving,' are among the tracks showcasing the growing global influence of African music in this year’s EA Football Club soundtrack. A French court has convicted French film director Christophe Ruggia of sexually abusing actress Adèle Haenel when she was underage. He will avoid prison as the court sentenced him to a two-year suspended term and two years under house arrest.Ruggia was also ordered to pay €15,000 to Haenel. In one of France's first big MeToo cases, Haenel accused Ruggia of repeatedly touching her inappropriately when she was between 12 and 15-years-old, after they met while working on the movie "The Devils" in 2001 Ruggia's lawyer, Fanny Colin, told reporters that her client maintained his innocence and would appeal the decision – the director has denied any wrongdoing since Haenel's first public accusations in 2019.
Red Panther Music Productions, the record label belonging to artiste manager, Christopher Nelson, popularly known as Mr. Logic, has debunked claims made by former signee, Monique Spence. In a statement issued by the Head of Public Relations, Aaron Martins, he noted that the artiste Monique Spence, popularly known as Mo' Spence, agreed to bear all service and production costs provided by the label until the end of their contract. "Monique Spence professionally signed a managerial contract with the record house, which obliges all services and production costs provided by the label to be borne by the artiste until the end of the duration. "The label secured all necessary visual production arrangements with selected visual production houses. Unfortunately, the artiste has not fulfilled scheduled attendance," the statement read. The statement further noted that the record label bears the cost of where the musician stayed during her stay in the country.

Drummer, singer, arranger and composer, Rim Akandoh Jnr and his Amamere Band have over the last few weeks, been spending several hours daily in a rehearsal studio at Cape Coast in the Central Region, preparing for an album release concert on February 22, 2025 at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill in Accra. The album is Akandoh Jnr’s eight-track Man Shall Be Free collection. It primarily takes inspiration from the guitar band Highlife style of the 1960s and 1970s but rejuvenated to resonate with contemporary audiences. “I know there’s so much music being made and people are ascribing all kinds of names to what they are doing. I’m not ashamed to put it plainly that I’m a Highlife musician. That’s where my roots lie,” says Akandoh Jnr, a former drummer with well-known Highlife giant, Ebo Taylor’s Saltpond City band.

Released on Sunday, January 19, 2025, the song reflects gratitude to God for sustaining him through the health challenges he faced in 2024. It is both a personal prayer and an offering of hope to Rwandans as the new year begins. “This song is Muyango’s way of thanking God and inspiring all Rwandans to embrace gratitude in 2025,” said his manager, Didier Kananura. “After overcoming serious health issues that required treatment abroad, Muyango wanted to start this year with a message of faith and appreciation for life.”
Gospel musician Joyce Blessing has revealed she once sold pure water on the streets as part of her struggle to survive. Speaking on Hitz FM on Wednesday, the singer shared her journey from hardship to success, recounting how she sold water, second-hand clothes, brooms, and other goods to make ends meet. Joyce Blessing, who is known for her hit song “Oluwa Is Involved,” explained that she left home at an early age due to the challenges her mother faced raising three children on her own. “From the beginning, it was very hard for me. If I tell people that I used to sell pure water, they don't believe me,” she said. “Sometimes, I would sell second-hand clothes, brooms, and gari. In fact, we sold anything that we came across. My sister and I did this together.” She also recalled how her parents were unaware of her move to Accra, as communication was not as easy back then.
