Her resurfaced comments from an interview with Larry Madowo have reignited the long-standing debate between the two countries. In the interview, Madowo referenced Wikipedia’s data stating that highlife originated in Ghana. However, Yemi Alade disagreed, arguing that Nigeria also deserves credit for the genre’s creation. Reacting to her claims, Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy firmly stated that Ghana is the “physical and spiritual source” of highlife.

The feature film "Gangs" by Moroccan director Kamal Lazraq was screened last night, Wednesday, as part of the 15th Francophone Film Festival (Francofilm) in Rome, in the presence of dignitaries from diplomatic and media circles, along with moviegoers. "Gangs," the young Moroccan director's debut feature, tells the story of Hassan and his son Issam, who live day-to-day in a working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of Casablanca, where they become involved in illegal activities to earn a living. One night, they are tasked by a gang leader with carrying out a kidnapping. However, things take a tragic turn when the kidnapped person suffocates to death in the trunk of their car, setting off a long, tense, and dangerous nighttime journey to dispose of the body.

A 10-year-old Nigerian, Hephzibah Akinwale, has broken the Guinness World Records, for the longest novel written by a child. Her debut novel, Chronicles of the Timekeepers: Whisked Away, set a new world record for the longest fiction novel written by a child. She published her novel on 21st September 2023, and it contains 58,000 words surpassing the previous record of 44,000 words. The Nigerian talent was born in Cambridge, England, Hephzibah discovered her passion for writing at just eight years old. Encouraged by her mother, Chika Akinwale, she honed her creativity and storytelling skills. Growing up with two younger sisters who share her imaginative spirit, Hephzibah developed a unique ability to craft narratives that seamlessly blend fantasy and reality.
