“These two wonderful boys came from Angola and their biggest dream was to meet me… To do so, they crossed the city, slept on the street, at the door of my condominium with signs in their hands and when their story reached me, I remembered that it was these two who, when we needed prayer the most, went online with signs for me asking for Brazil and Angola to unite for Vera’s cure. So I didn’t think twice and went there to talk to them to thank them and I received so much love and affection from these two that I will never forget that moment. I made a sandwich for them, brought them water, chocolates and only received love in return… Their happiness was written all over their faces. However, the one who was happiest with this meeting was me for meeting two such incredible people! Thank you, boys! I love you!”, he wrote in a video shared on his Instagram profile.

Acting is not a one-size-fits-all craft. The style, energy, and technique required can shift depending on whether you’re performing for film or television. While both mediums share core acting principles such as emotional truth, character depth, and technical awareness, the way these elements are executed differs greatly. Understanding these distinctions is crucial for actors looking to navigate both worlds successfully. Acting for Film Film acting demands a high level of naturalism and internal depth. Unlike television, where performances often need to maintain a level of consistency over multiple episodes, film allows for a more immersive, self-contained performance. Every choice an actor makes contributes to the complete arc of the character within a limited timeframe, making each moment significant.

On Tuesday, Canadian iconic novelist Antonine Maillet passed away at the age of 95, leaving behind a rich literary legacy that extended beyond Canada’s borders. Maillet was the first non-European author to win the prestigious French literary award, the Prix Goncourt, in 1979 for her renowned novel Pélagie-la-Charrette. Born in 1929 in New Brunswick, eastern Canada, Maillet dedicated her works to introducing the world to the history and culture of the Acadians—French-speaking people in North America who faced persecution and deportation by British forces nearly 270 years ago. One of Maillet’s most significant contributions within Canada was the creation of the character La Sagouine, a floor washer who speaks in Chiac, a dialect blending Old French and English.
