For the first time in its history, the Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia pageants will be hosted in northern Namibia, symbolising progress in the competition’s approach to inclusivity, cultural representation, and national unity. The Miss Namibia Organisation (MNO) has confirmed that the Oshana region will host the 2025 pageant, with the exact venue to be announced soon. A highlight of this year’s event is the appointment of Ondonga Queen Adelheid Nangolo as the official patron of Miss Namibia 2025. Her involvement represents the fast growing role of traditional leadership in national events and reinforces the pageant’s commitment to celebrating Namibia’s diverse heritage. MNO chief executive Umbi Karuaihe-Upi says the queen’s patronage represents the values of empowerment, culture and leadership that Miss Namibia stands for.

Sukez shared his cautionary tale in a recent Facebook post, advising young people to be cautious and focus on building their own futures, rather than relying on handouts or promises from politicians.
Ghanaian rapper Amerado has boldly asserted that any conversation surrounding the Artiste of the Year title at the upcoming 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) that excludes his name is a demonstration of ignorance. In a social media post on Friday, January 10, the “Kwaku Anase” hitmaker expressed disappointment at any attempt to overlook his contributions in the year under review. He emphasized that such omissions would be detrimental to both the music industry and aspiring artists. “Artiste of the Year conversation without Amerado under the 2024 year of review is an exposure of ignorance and consequently brutal to the industry and upcoming ones,” the rapper stated.

Nigerian Christian filmmaker/evangelist Mike Bamiloye has alleged that scientists are trying to invent a fake rapture. He claimed they were doing this to make Christians confused so they would no longer believe in the real rapture. He shared a screenshot from a Facebook post with the faces of two extraterrestrial beings with a caption that reads: "The extraterrestrial invasion is imminent. It will take 10,000 people in 2025."
Popular Nigerian singer, Oludipe David, also known as Spyro has alleged that he is being threatened with his sex tape. The singer disclosed the development via his Instagram story on Tuesday. He accused some unnamed religious figures of hiding behind their faith to cover up their deceitful actions. He lamented that the blackmail attempt came after he confronted an individual online for a wrongdoing. He said, “Don’t be deceived, the biggest scams and liars are the ones at the top of religious ladders. “They perpetrate evil and quote holy books to support their wrongs and then the emotional games and threats. The deception is on another level.
When chatting with a fellow rap enthusiast, they mentioned something intriguing—that rap might be cursed in Rwanda. While I’m not one for superstition, I couldn’t ignore the timing of their comment. The first attempt at this show was washed out by heavy rains that wrecked preparations at the outdoor venue at Canal Olympia, Rebero on December 28. But did the so-called curse linger? Fast forward to Friday night, January 10, and the scene at Icyumba Cya Rap suggested otherwise. Kigalians and visitors turned out in droves, packing the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV) like I hadn’t seen in ages for a hip-hop event. If you’ve been to KCEV, you’d know the staircase leading to the entry point is spacious, yet it was jam-packed with lines, and that was just for the VIP and VVIP sections. The regular entrance? Pure chaos, in the best way.
Social media critic Martins Otse, known as Verydarkman, has once again criticized gospel singer Mercy Chinwo in a new video. He had earlier shown his discontent with Chinwo during her ongoing dispute with her former manager, Eezee Tee. VDM stated that a recent podcast by Nedu Wazobia featuring BBNaija star Deeone was aimed at the gospel singer, as he mentioned her directly. GistLover recently shared that Nedu, during a chat with Deeone on his podcast, mentioned Eezee Tee, saying that many people had contacted him about the music executive. VDM fired back, urging Nedu to reveal names and back up his claims, similar to what he did with Chinwo. The critic who attacked Chinwo, saying she lacks faith, also mentioned that her lawyer attempted to reach out to him during her problems with Eezee Tee.
Renowned Burundian zouk and pop sensation, Kidum Kibido, has promised his fans an "energetic live performance" at the inaugural "Amore Valentine's Gala" scheduled for Friday, February 14, at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV). The 'Mapenzi' hitmaker was addressing members of media on Thursday, February 13, during a press briefing during which he urged revelers to not only turn up in large numbers, but also show up on time to celebrate love. "It is safe to say that Rwanda is my other home and giving my best is what I do best during my shows in Kigali. This will be another opportunity to reconnect with my fans, celebrate love and put up a big show that represents good music. I'm looking forward to creating an unforgettable experience with everyone," said Kidum.
