Showmax has just released the trailer for Tiek Tok Boem!, an explosive Showmax Original documentary set to premiere on 18 February 2025. This eye-opening 90-minute documentary takes a deep dive into the world of Afrikaans TikTokers who are pushing the platform to new – and often disturbing – levels. When most people think of TikTok, they picture fun dance challenges, viral memes, and endless laughs. But those days are over. A new wave of Afrikaans TikTokers is now dominating the local scene with their so-called “Drama Lives.” Some say ruling it, while others argue they’re ruining it. These live streams are far from your typical fun and games: they’re filled with cyberbullying, substance abuse, violence, explicit language, and, on occasion, even flushing your ex’s ashes down the toilet. Sadly, these chaotic broadcasts have already led to live-streamed suicide attempts.
Alaa Mikri belongs to an artistic family with a long history in the field of art and creativity. He is the son of one of the founders of the Mikri School, the great artist Mahmoud Mikri, under whose care he was raised and from whom he acquired pure artistic saturation. Alaa Mikri's talent for playing the guitar, singing and performing emerged at a very young age, so he joined the "Dior Al Jami" Music Institute in Rabat and refined his playing talent at the hands of Professor Al Atrash. In parallel with that, he joined theater roles to develop his acting skills as well.

Kanu Muso and I are thrilled to introduce our beautiful twins to the world. To be specific, a boy and a girl. ”Our hearts overflowing with joy. Please pray for the healthy development of the twins." Zainab responded to her husband's heartfelt post with a touching message of her own: Watching you become a father to our little ones has been the most beautiful experience. I am so thankful for your unwavering support, your kind heart, and the way you love our family. I know we will continue to grow and thrive together with our twins, and I am beyond excited for all the memories we are going to make.

The Egyptian short films include My Brother (2024), I Told You So (2023), and Dry Hot Summer (2015). My Brother, a 15-minute animated auto-fiction, was written and directed by brothers Abdelrahman and Saad Dnewar. It explores the past complexities shared by two identical twins, with a split narrative retelling the two sides of their memories. This narrative blurs the lines between their identities, reality and fiction, and present and past. The film is the only Egyptian entry in the International Competition. It will be screened alongside 64 other films "that expose, question, and invite us to look with a fresh pair of eyes at a reality where everyday life rubs stands alongside the extraordinary," the festival's catalogue reads. I Told You So, a 26-minute-long documentary, was directed by Malak Al-Sayyad and Amaan Stewart.

After the end of the musical project “Damásio Brothers” in December 2024, where he formed a duo with his brother Cilas, Graciano Damásio is preparing to take a new step in his career. The artist will make his solo debut with the song “Aliança”, which will be released on February 15th, in the month dedicated to “Valentine's Day”. In an interview with PLATINALINE, Graciano Damásio shared his vision for this new chapter of his career, promising to bring a more mature and versatile sound, where the central theme will be, of course, love, but with nuances that go beyond the simple declaration of feelings. “Aliança is a song about love, I tried to bring more poetry and I was very careful with the message, so that it wouldn’t be just another disposable song. We always hope in God and we want things to go well ,” he said. The new song, which promises to win the hearts of fans, presents a deeper poetic dimension and a high level of sophistication.
