Killer Music

The film is a drama/thriller directed by Anirban Mitra, written by Mighty Popo and Chelsea Wellarson, and produced by Sakara Production. It follows aspiring musicians competing in a high-stakes music contest, where violence, criminal activity, betrayal, and the pressures of fame begin to affect their lives.

Killer Music looks like an ambitious East African crime-and-music drama that uses the music industry to explore fame, competition, corruption, and danger. One of its notable strengths is its regional identity, bringing together actors and production talent from Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya, with filming taking place across the three countries.

The film also appears significant for Rwanda's developing cinema industry. It premiered in Kigali on September 14, 2025, and was later selected for the 8th Africa Film Festival in South Korea in 2026, where it was presented alongside films from several African countries.
