Alahun (The Weaver)

Alahun (The Weaver) is an upcoming Nigerian epic fantasy movie that brings Yoruba folklore to life. It is set to release in cinemas across Nigeria on August 21, 2026.
The story challenges typical ideas about masculinity. Instead of a classic, muscle-bound warrior saving the day, the hero is a regular weaver. When a princess goes missing and the kingdom falls into chaos, this weaver has to travel across different worlds to rescue her and save the throne. It is a journey about bravery, love, identity, and finding strength in unexpected places.
The film is directed by Dare Olaitan and produced by Kayode Kasum, in a partnership between Genesis Pictures, Singularity Media, and FilmTribe Media. It also features a massive lineup of famous Nollywood stars, including Odunlade Adekola, Lateef Adedimeji, Ibrahim Chatta, and Omowunmi Dada.
