Rwandan vocalist and songstress Alyn Sano and culture artiste Ruti Joel have been confirmed as part of the lineup for the forthcoming "Amore Valentine's Gala," scheduled for February 14 at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV). “Meet me at Camp Kigali this Valentine’s! I will be performing live for you,” Alyn Sano announced on her social media platforms. The duo joins Burundian zouk and pop sensation Kidumu Kibido who will be the main act of the concert. Kidumu returns to Kigali just five months after his performance at the 'Soirée Dansante' event, part of his 100 Stages in 1000 Hills series—a celebrated run of shows in the Rwandan capital over the years—also held at KCEV on August 23, 2024. "We invite everyone to an exquisite evening full of love and good music, celebrating romance with loved ones," one of the event organizers told The New Times.

Nigerian comedian, Bovi, has revealed that the relocation of his family abroad started by accident. Naija News reports that Bovi, in an interview on the ‘Uncolored’ podcast, explained that he relocated his kids abroad because the Nigerian educational system has accepted bullying. Bovi claimed that students are empowered to bully their fellow students in the name of senior students disciplining their juniors. He said, “My kids don’t live in the country [Nigeria] anymore. They have been in the UK for two years now. It started by accident, my first son has been there since 2021 in boarding house. “I went to boarding school in Nigeria and it made me street-smart. So I decided that my kid needs to go to boarding but not in Nigeria because the educational system has accepted bullying by empowering students to bully their fellows students in the name of senior students disciplining their juniors.”

A beautiful initiative and a noble gesture was undertaken last weekend by the management of the Anfa Cultural Complex in Casablanca by holding a ceremony on the occasion of the founding of the Anfa Institute of Arabic Music Choir. The artistic choir includes a group of professors and students from the Anfa Music Institute, led by Maestro Said Alaoui Al-Azizi, and to celebrate the spirit of the late Professor Mustafa Saud during his great contribution to the establishment of the clarinet department for children and adults within one year at the Music Institute affiliated with the Anfa Cultural Complex. The director of the Anfa Cultural Complex Music Institute, Mustafa Al-Tijani, stressed in his opening speech for the artistic ceremony the reasons for creating an Arabic music choir in the complex in line with the internal law for organizing music institutes in Al-Maqrab, as well as providing the opportunity for the institute’s students to benefit from music training with the choir.

Teen sensation Andreas Shipanga, popularly known as Shax Champion, is one upcoming artist whose stardom is rising rapidly. The Ondangwa-born musician, who was raised at Lüderitz, is one of the busiest artists in the country. Ever since he dropped his debut hit single ‘Soos ’n Dier’ in June last year, the former choir singer has been busy, with hardly any weekends off. Shax explains: “Honestly speaking, when I started this journey, I did not expect success to come so soon. It is really hard to come to terms with the fact that an experimental project gripped the imagination of almost the entire nation. I am really honoured. “It is unbelievable that only a couple of years ago, I was still singing bass in the school choir at Angra Pequena Senior Secondary School, as well as the Lüderitz Youth Choir. I am actually a product of choral music. It is where I shaped the voice people know today.”
