My mother nicknamed me 'audition audition' – Jeffrey Nortey on chasing acting career

Ghanaian actor and content creator, Jeffrey Nortey, has opened up on his journey into acting. He has disclosed how he earned the nickname ‘best actor in auditions’ and how his relentless pursuit of a career in the industry paid off. In an interview with TV3, he discussed how he overcame a series of rejections on his path to success in entertainment. Despite facing setbacks, Jeffrey Nortey said he remained determined to follow his passion for acting. “I really wanted to act. So, when it came to choosing school courses, I was doing everything to get closer. Many schools rejected me. I was rejected by the University of Ghana, KNUST rejected me, GIJ rejected me,” he said. Even when he enrolled in a private university, the actor said his natural talent and dedication helped him stand out. “The students in level 100 thought I was a University of Ghana student because I was sweeping the tertiary awards,” he said.
