Moro

Moro, whose real name is Zakaria Barkane, is a Moroccan rapper from Casablanca, particularly associated with the Derb Sultan neighborhood. He developed his passion for French rap in the early 2000s and built a career around a raw, street-oriented style that combines Moroccan Darija with French and some English influences. He is known for his incisive flow and introspective writing, often touching on street life, migration, family, hardship, redemption and Moroccan identity. His music reflects both his Casablanca roots and his experiences living between Morocco, France and Switzerland.
