"Happy Gilmore 2" Sets Release Date
he sequel to the classic 1996 Adam Sandler golf comedy "Happy Gilmore" will begin streaming July 25 on Netflix.Happy Gilmore 2Happy Gilmore 2 Joining Sandler in the sequel are returning cast members Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald and Ben Stiller, plus newcomers such as Bad Bunny, Travis Kelce and Sandler’s daughters Sadie and Sunny. Real professional golfers John Daly, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau and more also feature in the movie. Sandler teased the long-awaited comedy sequel last year during an appearance on “The Tonight Show” by saying: “It’s good. We worked hard on the script. We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time. We’re really excited about it. We wrote our asses off. So many of the golfers are being nice and will be a part of it.”

Darkoo calls out Peter of P-Square for attempting to sabotage her new single
On January 2, 2024, Darkoo released a new single titled 'Focus On Me (All the sexy girls in the club)'. On the vibrant single which went viral on TikTok before its release, she sampled P-Square's hit record 'Gimme Dat' off their 2009 album 'Danger'. The music video inspired by P-Square's video for 'Gimme Dat' was released days later before it was taken down over copyright infringements. According to Darkoo in a post on her X account on January 11, 2025, the music video was taken down by Peter AKA Mr. P who is one half of the legendary P-Square group. Darkoo claimed that the 45-year-old music icon was acting out of spite because failed to accede to his request to be featured on the single. She said that despite promising to make him a part of the remix, Peter refused to be appeased. In a series of posts, Darkoo claimed that she cleared the sample and even conceded 50 percent of the royalties to P-Square out of respect for their work and status.

Music Legend Teddy Osei of Osibisa Dies at 88
Teddy Osei, one of the pioneering founder of Afro-rock band Osibisa, has died in London. The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) President Bessa Simons confirmed his passing on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Osei’s journey from Kumasi, Ghana to international stardom embodied the spirit of African music innovation. Born in December 1937, he transformed from a self-taught saxophonist into a groundbreaking bandleader who helped define the Afro-rock genre. His musical path began unconventionally – he picked up the saxophone by chance when another musician failed to show up for band practice during his college days in Sekondi. This twist of fate led him to master the instrument by playing along to jazz records. Before founding Osibisa, Osei led The Comets, a successful Ghanaian band influenced by Highlife music. In 1962, he embarked on a transformative journey to London, where he initially worked as a dishwasher before securing a government grant to study music and drama.

The document dated 11th February states that in 2012, Gravity Omutujju, real name Gereson Wabuyu together with Pitaxon and producer Rinex under Big Talent reproduced, shot a remix version, and continued performing the song without the family’s authorization. The video uploaded on the singer’s YouTube channel features audio, visual fixation, beats, lyrics, and voices of the deceased with no authorization. “These acts constitute gross violations of copyright and neighboring rights including but not limited to: Violation of the Author’s Moral and Economic Rights, Unlawful reproduction, adaptation, and distribution of copyrighted work and unauthorized commercial exploitation of the Late Paul Kafeero’s intellectual property rights,” read part of the notice.

Nollywood actor Saheed Balogun loses daughter
Zeenat Balogun, daughter of a popular Nollywood actor, Saheed Balogun, is dead. The actor, who announced the passing of his daughter on Saturday via his verified Instagram account, posted a solemn image of a candlelight surrounded by flowers, accompanied by heartbroken emojis. Hours later, his former wife, Fathia Balogun, and colleague, Ronke Ojo, popularly known as Ronke Oshodi Oke, confirmed the news via their Instagram accounts.
