She began her musical career performing in hotels and became a backing vocalist for Youssou N'Dour's band, Super Étoile de Dakar, gaining recognition through her collaboration on the hit "Seven Seconds." Chidid released her first album, *Entre Nous*, in 1999, achieving significant success with the track "Sama Nene." Her style evolved to combine traditional mbalax with RnB and hip-hop influences, exemplified in her successful 2004 album *Esprit*, which became the best-selling hip-hop album in Senegal. Throughout her career, she has faced challenges, including a plagiarism lawsuit in 2002, but continued to thrive with her innovative musical approach and glamorous image.
