Uzoamaka Power is a Nigerian actor, writer, and director known for her roles in films like Mami Wata (2023) and The Weekend (2024). She earned degrees in English and history from the University of Nigeria and an MA in creative writing from the University of Birmingham. Power's career launched with MTV Shuga in 2017, leading to acclaimed performances in films such as Stuck (2019) and Ife (2020). In 2023, she gained significant recognition for her role in Mami Wata, Nigeria's entry for the Academy Awards, earning a Best Supporting Actress nomination. She made her directorial debut with Love Language in 2023 and continued her success in 2024, resulting in a Best Actress nomination. Power has also published literary works and, in 2025, changed her professional name to symbolize her artistry and strength.
