Latinum Lati acknowledges struggles with drug abuse and media’s role in stifling his music career

Singer Latinum Lati real name Tonny Mbangira has addressed allegations that he wasted away his talent when he started using hard drugs. The dancehall ragga sensation was known for releasing chart-topping hits, unfortunately at the height of his career, he veered off the course. News later came out that he had been committed to a rehabilitation center to curb his drug addiction. He was, however, reported to have relapsed and in an interview, Latinum confessed to using drugs but he says he was influenced by the fame and the people that managed his career. Having started doing music at a young age, Latinum was exposed to the toxic side of the industry and he was too naïve to control it.
