Sizwe Alakine, previously known as the rapper Reason, is a prominent South African musician who has successfully transitioned to the Amapiano genre while blending elements of hip-hop and rap. With over 15 years in the music industry, he has collaborated with significant artists such as Kabza De Small and won his first South African Music Award for his Amapiano work. Originating from Tembisa and raised in Katlehong, Alakine began as a battle rapper in 2005 and is also known for his roles in television. He regards "Reason" as a hip-hop persona, while "Sizwe Alakine" represents his authentic self.
