Angolan singer Eva RapRiva has joined more than thirty-three Portuguese personalities from various sectors in an open letter to ask the Prime Minister of Portugal to recognize the State of Palestine. The petitioners include Valete, MEP Bruno Gonçalves, Capicua and Cláudia Semedo. In the letter published by the weekly newspaper Expresso, the signatories, including former socialist leaders, actors, musicians and television commentators, recall that more than 140 countries already recognise the sovereignty of Palestine and consider that Portugal has not responded well at a diplomatic level. “The international recognition of Palestine is now on the international agenda, but this war has not started now… we understand that our country must respond to this situation with all the legal and institutional tools available to the Government of the Republic, of which the Prime Minister is the highest representative,” the signatories write.

However, things take a tragic turn when the kidnapped person suffocates to death in the trunk of their car, setting off a long, tense, and dangerous nighttime journey to dispose of the body.
