Saifond

Saifoulaye Baldé, professionally known as Saifond, is a Guinean singer and songwriter born in Labé, Guinea.

He moved to Conakry to continue his studies, but his passion for music eventually led him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He began his artistic journey as a dancer before joining a rap group. He later decided to pursue a solo career.

Known for his distinctive high-pitched voice, Saifond has developed a unique sound that combines traditional Guinean music with modern Afrobeat influences. This fusion, commonly referred to as “Afro-pastoral,” has become increasingly popular in Guinea, with Saifond recognized as one of the artists who helped popularize the style.

He released his first solo project, “Djiwo Athiou Mi Yidhé,” in 2017. The title translates to “Girl, Let Me Love You.” Since then, he has continued to release music and establish himself as a prominent figure in Guinea’s contemporary music scene.

Saifond released his debut album, “Sabou No Wely,” in November 2022. The album was accompanied by several singles, many of which received official music videos. He has continued working on new material, including his second album, which was planned for release at the end of 2024.
