sagatala official

Sagatala comes from Coyah, KM 43, Guinea, and consists of two rappers: BigAziz, also known as BigFredo, and Dawayne, also known as Nahmir. Their official biography says the group was formed in 2021 from the wider FTF (Forty Three Family) collective, which dates back to 2017.

What makes them interesting is their multilingual approach. Their music combines Poular, Soussou, French and English, giving their rap a distinctly Guinean identity while still drawing from contemporary international hip-hop and drill. Their own description emphasizes powerful writing, punchlines, energetic flows and themes connected to social realities, motivation and hope.
