Oluwapelumi Olorunda, professionally known as Runda, is a fast-rising Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, songwriter, and producer. Raised in the bustling streets of Agege, Lagos, Runda’s musical journey began as a high school poet before he transformed his passion for literature into melody at the age of 16. Drawing heavy inspiration from African music legends like Wizkid and 2Baba, as well as global icons like Michael Jackson, he has carved out a unique space for himself with his distinctive, soul-stirring vocal texture and emotive storytelling.
Runda began releasing music independently in 2019, quickly gaining a reputation for his ability to translate real-life experiences into catchy, melodic Afrobeats. He broke into mainstream consciousness with his 2022 breakout single "Good Girl", produced by Ty Cruz and Soundz. The track became a viral sensation across Nigeria, earning heavy radio rotation and digital streaming success. He subsequently signed a strategic partnership deal with Lit Music Group and digital distributor ONErpm, leading to the release of his self-titled debut EP, Runda, which featured fan favorites like "Superstar" and "No One".
