Nigerian music executive, Ubi Franklin, has slammed music producer, Samuel Oguachuba, popularly known as Samklef, for mocking Afrobeat singer, Davido Adeleke, better known as Davido, following his defeat at the 67th Grammy Awards. Naija News reported that Davido failed to clinch any award despite receiving six nominations from the Recording Academy. In a post on his X handle on Monday, Samklef claimed that Davido’s colleagues, Burna Boy and Wizkid, will be laughing at the singer for his loss. He applauded singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, for emerging winner of the Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammys, stressing that money cannot save anyone who does not have real talent.
Swangz Avenue has this morning announced the postponement of its much-anticipated #RoastAndRhyme. The event was scheduled for today 23 February at Jahazi Pier in Munyonyo. At the time of the revelation, all preparations to have the Roast and Rhyme hosted had been done, with the stage up, and lined-up artists had done their sound check a day before.

The production company Ciné Work, in collaboration with comedian Yassar Lamghari, announced the continuation of the film's screenings following its overwhelming public success since its release in Moroccan cinemas. The film, which the company had hoped would be the season's surprise hit, broke records by surpassing 350,000 tickets sold in just seven weeks, an achievement that reflects the public's confidence in Moroccan cinema and its growing quality. Yassar Lamghari expressed his gratitude to the audience, sending a thank-you message in which he said: "Thank you to everyone who was part of this success, and I invite everyone who has not yet seen the film to take advantage of the opportunity to see it again at Megarama Cinema for a different and unique comedy experience."

He also explained how his healthy real-life marriage helped him prepare for his role as a toxic husband. “My wife was also a huge help while preparing for this role. She would assist me with my lines and I’d ask her how she would feel if I said something a particular way. It was fun to see if I could provoke a reaction from her in the same way Bonga might from Nkanyezi,” he explained.
Afro-highlife musician, Kay9ice, known in private life as Philip Kay Kissi has publicly apologised to award-winning dancehall musician Shatta Wale and the Shatta Movement following his controversial remarks about his song. Kay9ice made the comments about Shatta Wale’s song on Adom TV’s Showtime programme with Sally Mann. Kay9ice believes the comments passed did not sit well with the Shatta Movement. Against this backdrop, in a recent interview on Wontumi TV, Kay9ice expressed regret for his statements, clarifying that he never intended to disrespect Shatta Wale. “I would like to use this opportunity to apologise to all S.M fans, I might have made some comments which I never intended for it to sound wrong to the fans, I have no intention of disrespecting such an icon,” Kay9ice added.
In a recent revelation, OBO as fondly called by his fans, has given new details of how his billionaire dad, Adedeji Adeleke bought him out of his first professional contract. Davido recalled that he signed a deal with Black Diamond in 2011 but his dad bought him out of the deal after he played the first cut of his smash hit ‘Dami Duro’ video for the concerned father. He explained that his dad, who had previously opposed his music career, bought him out of the contract to ensure he owned 100 percent of his masters. Davido disclosed this while corroborating the tweet made by his former label boss, Tosin Ashafa where he shared how he gave the singer his first deal and how his father reacted to it. Ghanaian Dancehall and Afrobeats artist and producer, Article Wan, has taken a firm stance against individuals who plot the downfall of talents in the music industry. Speaking on Atinka TV’s Entertainment Lounge with Odefour DiAsa Paapa, he criticized so-called “gurus” who spend energy undermining artists instead of pushing the industry forward. “The same energy used to bring down artists should be channeled into projecting the industry,” he stressed, adding that no one can bring him down. The artist reflected on the unexpected success of his hit song Towa, revealing that it was inspired by the DiAsa reality show for plus-size women. “I wasn’t thinking of pushing it big, but before I realized, it went viral,” – he said. Veteran Nollywood actor, famous in the Yoruba film industry, Dele Odule, has recounted the death of his first child. Naija News reports that the movie star, in an interview with his colleague, Kunle Afod, said the death of his child was the saddest moment of his life. Odule said he accepted the demise as the will of God and prayed never to face such a tragedy again. He said, “The saddest moment in my life was when I was told my first child died. It was very hard on me. “It was hard because of the situation surrounding the child’s birth. It was very hard on me but no one can question the authority of God. It was so bad and I do not pray for such anymore.” Speaking about his family and career, Odule said his children have a natural talent for the arts, with one showing potential in acting and another having a talent for singing.
