Egyptian stars Wafaa Amer and Horeya Farghaly's upcoming film "Baraet Raya Wa Sakina" has been changed to a TV series. The drama is titled "Banat Hamam" and consists of 15 episodes.
The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) announced the selection of acclaimed Egyptian critic Ahmed Shawky as president of the Critics Jury at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, which will be held in the German capital from February 13-23, 2025. The Berlin jury is the largest committee organized by the International Federation of Film Critics annually, as it includes 12 critics from around the world, each three of whom judge films in one of the festival’s sections. Shawky will participate in judging the films of the international competition in addition to chairing the jury in general.

After years of making music, Cina Soul has finally released her debut album, a project she describes as her biggest achievement yet. “I’ve always wanted to drop an album, but I felt I wasn’t ready. It’s a full body of work, and I needed time to create it,” she told KMJ on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGh. She admitted that the process was exhausting. “I don’t know how people create albums every year. It took me almost two and a half years to make this one. “Recording so many songs and shortlisting them to 10 or 12 was tough. Everyone had opinions—my team, marketing experts—but I had to follow my heart.”

Ghanaian singer Fameye has publicly apologized to Ghanaian DJs following an incident during his performance at the Xmas Highlife Concert in London. During the event, held at the Dominion Center in London, Fameye abruptly left the stage, citing issues with the DJ's handling of his set. Despite prior rehearsals, technical mishaps occurred, including the playing of unrelated tracks, which disrupted his performance. In a subsequent interview on Hitz FM, Fameye expressed regret over the incident and extended his apologies to DJs across Ghana. He noted that that preference has resulted in English rappers being overlooked and undervalued, despite their talent and contributions to the genre.
South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, celebrated for her compelling performances from a young age, was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on Sunday. She was 24.
