Invested Cape Town Art Fair returns to the Cape Town International Convention Centre this week and within its programme of exhibitions, art talks and tours are four Namibians. Featuring Stephané Edith Conradie, Tangeni Kambudu, Anne Lacheiner-Kuhn and Maria Mbereshu alongside over 120 exhibitors from across the globe, the 12th edition of the prestigious fair will take place from 21 to 23 February under the theme of ‘PLAY’. “Through ‘PLAY’, Investec Cape Town Art Fair offers a space where the boundaries between creator and viewer are fluid, and where art itself becomes a living, interactive experience,” says fair director Laura Vincenti. “Rather than being a passive observation of aesthetic objects, ‘play’ invites the audience to actively participate.” Lacheiner-Kuhn and Mbereshu, exhibiting in collaboration with Windhoek’s The Project Room, will both be making their Investec Cape Town Art Fair debut in the ‘Lookout’ section.

In a recent interview on the Okukuseku Show with Emelia Brobbey, Maame Serwaa, born Clara Benson, expressed pride in her natural physique, stressing that she has never felt the need for surgical enhancements. However, she admitted that if she ever opted for surgery, it would be to reduce the size of her breasts. “I haven’t done any body enhancement before. The only time I considered it was to reduce the size of my breasts because I felt they were too large. If I ever decide to have a procedure, it would be that” she stated. She also mentioned that if she undergoes breast reduction surgery, she will document the entire process to educate others about its importance beyond aesthetics.

During an interview with Giovanni Caleb on TV3, Kwabena Kwabena, born George Kwabena Adu, stated that lack of investment is one of the challenges that the creative arts sector is facing. “Another challenge is investment into our business.
