ordkez is a South African singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist who has become one of the interesting voices in the country's alternative R&B scene. Her music combines emotional songwriting with R&B, neo-soul, hip-hop and experimental sounds. She is particularly known for vulnerable lyrics dealing with identity, love, spirituality, self-discovery and personal growth. She grew up in Kimberley in a musical church environment. Her mother played the organ and taught her to play, while her grandfather was a priest. She also sang in the church choir.
