Douro Junior: Author of “Engano” who saw his hit mistakenly attributed to Cef Tanzy

Born in the province of Benguela, the young singer Douro Junior claims to be the true author of the hit “Engano”, a song that many Angolans wrongly attribute to Cef Tanzy due to the vocal similarity. At 26 years old, in an interview with the program Dia Alegre, on PLATINA FM (96.8), the artist revealed that he released the song in 2018 and that the confusion has created challenges in his career. Douro Junior said that he had already had serious problems due to the situation and that, during a meeting with Cef Tanzy at an event, he was informed that Nino Republicano was looking for him, accusing him of “vocal plagiarism”. “When I first met with Cef, he told me that Republicano was looking for me because of this issue. He told me that I am plagiarizing and that I sent some bloggers to publish the song under Cef’s name to tell them,” Douro Junior reported.
