About Artist
FirstKlaz (Joseph Justice Esla) is a 26-year-old Nigerian singer-songwriter making waves by blending Nigeria's deep musical roots with modern global sounds. Growing up between Abuja and Nasarawa State, he holds onto his Eggon heritage, which heavily inspires his music.
He is widely celebrated for creating "Gen-Z Fuji" and "Neo-Arewa" music. He takes traditional instruments like the Hausa talking drum (kalangu) and mixes them with modern hip-hop, Afrobeats, and pop. This unique style exploded into the mainstream with his hit tracks "Gen-Z Fuji" and "Gen-Z Faaji" featuring Joeboy.
FirstKlaz has a massive following across Nigeria. He proved his star power by pulling off a massive 7-state national tour. In late 2025, he dropped his acclaimed EP, Dejavu, featuring big names like Zlatan and Jeriq. He is kicking off 2026 strong with new chart-topping singles like "Tsammani."
