In a significant development for the annual National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA), event managers have invited artists to come on board and showcase their talents. Eight days after gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi was arrested for allegedly murdering his ‘girlfriend,’ Salome Adaidu, his father has pleaded with the Nigerian government for leniency. It is the first time the 32-year-old gospel singer’s family has spoken publicly since the incident gained widespread attention. Faisal Al-Araichi, CEO of the National Radio and Television Company, said today, Tuesday, in a meeting of the Education and Culture Committee in the House of Representatives, that a political decision by the government has decided that the National Radio and Television Company will own 100 percent of the shares of the channels "2M" and "Medi1 TV", within two months. Al-Araichi explained in the meeting, which was devoted to discussing topics related to “criteria for distributing support for the Moroccan press” and others related to “the media sector and the situation of audiovisual media,” that the National Radio and Television Company will own 100 percent of the shares of the company Soriad 2M, and the same percentage for the company that owns the Medi1 TV channel, compared to 83.6 percent for Medi1 Radio, and with the same percentage the National Company will own the company responsible for advertising for the companies Soriad 2M and Medi1 Channel.
