Ghanaian music icon Samini is set to light up the music scene again with the release of his latest single, ‘CHAANA’, featuring the internationally celebrated Soweto Gospel Choir. Scheduled for release on March 13, this highly anticipated track marks the first single off his forthcoming album, ‘ORIGIN8A’, set to drop later this year. ‘CHAANA’, which means ‘shine’, is a soul-stirring Afro Pop anthem that seeks to uplift and inspire Africans, reinforcing the continent’s limitless potential, resilience, and unity. The song masterfully blends Samini’s distinct style with authentic African influences, incorporating the WALA dialect from Wa, the Upper West Region of Ghana—where Samini hails from—alongside Swahili elements delivered by the Soweto Gospel Choir. This fusion creates a Pan-African musical experience, celebrating diversity while emphasizing a common cultural heritage.
In the interview that sparked controversy, Cindy Sanyu was asked about her opinion regarding the trio and advised them to stop trying to be like Blu*3. She acknowledged that they are super talented and powerful. However, they are still stuck in the past instead of discovering and being true to themselves. “This is 2025 and you cannot be copying a group that was there in 2005; it is so out of game. Since the management is the same as ours then, some costumes, some songs and many others are similar to what we used to do; it was nice then but it’s now outdated,” Cindy claimed.

After years of making music, Cina Soul has finally released her debut album, a project she describes as her biggest achievement yet. “I’ve always wanted to drop an album, but I felt I wasn’t ready. It’s a full body of work, and I needed time to create it,” she told KMJ on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGh. She admitted that the process was exhausting. “I don’t know how people create albums every year. It took me almost two and a half years to make this one. “Recording so many songs and shortlisting them to 10 or 12 was tough. Everyone had opinions—my team, marketing experts—but I had to follow my heart.”

“Our Sophia was a wonderful project… a wish that almost came true. What I have to tell you is that our little girl will no longer arrive in the world where her parents and siblings would welcome her with open arms. Sophia was a dream… a dream that continues and I am sure that she will return. Yes, she will return, because Fredy and I still want to have our little girl. And we believe a lot in spirituality, so I know that Sophia will be among us in the next attempt. I am already the mother of three boys and I know that a little girl will arrive. It was almost, this time… but I know that God saved the just reward for this family for later. Our little girl will arrive. And we will be waiting for her, because we will not stop trying. We love you very much, daughter. Note: but, next time we will not say anything. They will only scare people and Sophia will be on your screen.
Former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku Mantey, has alluded that the lack of consultation in managing the 2024 campaign of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) may have contributed to the party's defeat. According to Okraku Mantey, the party failed to do due diligence and ended up using a profane song as part of their campaign, which did not augur well for the brand of the NPP's flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. "Do you know that the song we were playing,'sisifia', is profane? It is profane. This party has people like me, George Quaye, those of us in the music industry. Take me as an example; nobody will consult you on music. Then we take a profane song for someone like Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, look at his brand, then we as a party will ask Dr. Bawumia to dance to it..." he stated in an interview on Peace FM. "Makoma" by award-winning musician King Paluta was a key feature of the NPP's campaign ahead of the December 7, 2024, elections.
