Inside Shota’s Epic 50th Birthday Celebration. Recently family, friends, peers in the industry and fans gathered around to celebrate one of the biggest musicians of out time. It was Mnqobi Mdabe, popularly known as Shota’s 50th birthday celebration. He doesn’t look a day over 45, hence why it’s a shock for many that he is 50. The talented musician, producer and DJ ventured into the industry, when he, Thandukwazi Sikhosana “Demor” and Nkosinathi Maphumulo “Black Coffee” started a group called Shana. He rose to fame when he released his solo album ‘Afro Rawmantic’ in 2011. The album fuses hardcore dance beats with soulful, sensual singing. The album also includes collaborations with a multitude of artists including DJ Euphonik , Black Coffee and Demor.
