An enigmatic artist who turned his hand to arthouse and blockbuster film, television, painting and music, Lynch was considered first and foremost one of US cinema's great auteurs. "It is with deep regret that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch," read a statement on his official Facebook page. "There's a big hole in the world now that he's no longer with us. But, as he would say, 'Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.'" The cause and location of death were not specified. Lynch, who lived in Los Angeles, had suffered from emphysema after years of heavy smoking. He emerged on the US indie scene with his groundbreaking 1977 horror "Eraserhead," a creepy and now cult classic shot on a shoestring budget over five years because he kept running out of money and had a wife and daughter to support.
Music producer ID Cabasa has expressed concern over the Nigerian entertainment industry. He lamented that many entertainers need healing from things they are privately going through. Taking to his social media page, ID Cabasa pointed out that a lot of people need closure, unfortunately, when they speak about their struggles, they are often criticised instead of receiving the healing they need. He wrote, “We need to treat Trauma more in Naija. A lot of people need closure.. unfortunately when they speak up rather than finding healing “People pick side” We mock/blame/judge people for things they need healing from. The entertainment industry has many stars that need healing. But commentators deepen their pain by criticising them rather than showing empathy. So a lot is locked in so as to appear STRONG while dying internally. Even when they cry out for help, we gloss over it as entertainment.”
The music that reaches the audience's ears is the result of a combination of talents, from the artist who gives voice and face to the work to the producer, responsible for creating all the melodic synchrony. However, the role of the music producer often goes unnoticed, despite their importance in creating the final sound. A music producer plays a crucial role in the creation of a song, adjusting frequencies, defining rhythms, suggesting changes and creating the foundation on which singers build their art. They are the ones who ensure that the music reaches the audience in the best possible quality. Rafael Beat is, today, one of the unavoidable names in music production and a clear example of this reality. He was the one who shaped and elevated the career of Mano Chaba, one of the most remarkable voices in kuduro, proving that, without producers, many talents would never achieve the recognition they deserve.
