Chinwe Owoh

Actress

Chinwe Owoh, a notable figure in Nollywood, began her acting career at 42 in 1999 and has since participated in over 200 films, gaining fame with her role in Mothering Sunday (2001). Known for her strong emotional portrayals, she often plays roles of oppressed mothers and grandmothers. Born around 1957-1958 in Enugu State, Nigeria, she completed all her education there. Owoh was married to Frank Owoh, with whom she had children and later became a grandmother. Frank Owoh passed away in April 2025, and Chinwe expressed deep sorrow during his burial in July 2025, attended by family, including her brother-in-law Nkem Owoh.
