Kanda Bongo Man is a renowned Congolese soukous musician, celebrated for pioneering the modern soukous sound and popularizing the kwassa kwassa dance rhythm. Born in Inongo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, he began his musical journey in 1973 as the vocalist for Orchestra Belle Mambo. In 1979, he relocated to Paris, where he infused his music with elements of zouk, leading to the release of successful solo albums like "Iyole" (1981) and "Djessy" (1982).
