Eight days after gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi was arrested for allegedly murdering his ‘girlfriend,’ Salome Adaidu, his father has pleaded with the Nigerian government for leniency. It is the first time the 32-year-old gospel singer’s family has spoken publicly since the incident gained widespread attention. PREMIUM TIMES reported that the artiste was apprehended in Agwan Sarki Orozo, Nasarawa State, while allegedly attempting to dispose of the severed head of 24-year-old Ms Adaidu, a Youth Corps Member serving in Abuja. In a Channels TV interview on Monday, Mr Ajayi’s father said, “I want the government to help me; let them settle the matter. I plead. Help me beg the people; let them leave him (Timilehin Ajayi).” Mr Ajayi’s parents and siblings reside in the Orozo community within the same local government area where their son was nabbed.

Fuhrman is to star in a dual role in the film, whose synopsis reads: “After years of separation, Jenny returns home to discover that her twin sister Izzi has been possessed by a malevolent force and has disappeared into the surrounding woods. As a long-buried generational curse resurfaces, Jenny joins forces with her father John and local sheriff Blackstone (Rooker) to venture into the cursed forest in a desperate attempt to save her sister.” The pic will be directed by twin brothers Jamie Neese and Jason Neese, who previously served as co-executive producers on Netflix hit "The Umbrella Academy". Daniel Baur’s K5 International has boarded worldwide sales on the film and is introducing it to buyers at this week’s European Film Market. Principal photography is scheduled for fall 2026.
Grammy-nominated star Asake has been announced as one of the headliners for the Yardland Festival in France. The Nigerian hitmaker will be headlining the festival in the company of other global stars, including American rapper Latto and Belgian rapper Hamza. Other stars billed to perform at the festival include French hitmaker Tiakola and Swazi DJ & Producer Uncle Waffles. Asake's 2025 is off to an eventful start, as the singer has been showcasing his new face tattoos and daring fashion.
Spotify has announced Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader Sunmisola Agbebi as the EQUAL Africa Artist for February 2025, recognising her talent and impact in the gospel music industry. Sunmisola Agbebi joins Qing Madi in the 2025 EQUAL Africa programme that showcases outstanding female talent from the continent. Born with a passion for music, Sunmisola began singing at the age of four and has remained steadfast in her journey. Her talent has seen her participate in numerous gospel competitions, earning accolades and solidifying her reputation as one of the artists advancing gospel music. In November 2020, she released her debut single, 'Amazing', a song that remains a cornerstone of her musical journey. Sunmisola recently released 'Holy Spirit', an expression of reverence and dependence on the Spirit of God. Her ability to convey deep spiritual messages through her music has earned her a devoted fan base.
Sadeq was born on 9 January 1945 in Cairo. A Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts graduate, he began his artistic journey in the early 1970s, taking roles in theatre, cinema and TV series. Among his first theatre appearances was in the play Husbands Without a Past (1975). Though Sadeq focused on film and television series as an actor, he occasionally returned to theatre stages, performing in several commercial works such as Body Guard (1999) starring Adel Emam. Ghanaian singer Camidoh has shared an emotional message with his fans, addressing his long break from releasing music. In his latest social media post, he Sugarcane hitmaker admitted that he has not dropped as much music as expected. He explained that despite working on new songs, things have not gone as planned, expressing that it pains him just as much. “I know I haven’t released as much music as I should have over the past year, and I know you see me constantly working on new music but not dropping it,” he wrote. Camidoh hinted at challenges preventing him from putting out new material but assured fans he is working tirelessly to resolve them. “Sometimes, things just don’t go the way you want them to, and it hurts more than I can explain. But I need you to know that I’m doing everything I can to fix the things that have been holding me back.”
