TikTok star Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, known as Peller, shared his joy in a video after gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey mentioned him during the Hallelujah Challenge.
Teen sensation Andreas Shipanga, popularly known as Shax Champion, is one upcoming artist whose stardom is rising rapidly. The Ondangwa-born musician, who was raised at Lüderitz, is one of the busiest artists in the country. Ever since he dropped his debut hit single ‘Soos ’n Dier’ in June last year, the former choir singer has been busy, with hardly any weekends off. Shax explains: “Honestly speaking, when I started this journey, I did not expect success to come so soon. It is really hard to come to terms with the fact that an experimental project gripped the imagination of almost the entire nation. I am really honoured. “It is unbelievable that only a couple of years ago, I was still singing bass in the school choir at Angra Pequena Senior Secondary School, as well as the Lüderitz Youth Choir. I am actually a product of choral music. It is where I shaped the voice people know today.”
Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has addressed recent allegations that he failed to show up for the video shoot of Kofi Mole's hit song Makoma, which features both him and Bosom PYung. The claims, made by Kofi Mole, have sparked controversy, with the rapper now clarifying his side of the story. Taking to X, Sarkodie responded to a post by Hitz FM, firmly denying any involvement in the video shoot's issues. He wrote, “Yaa monma me din nda kakra me sr3 mo … have no idea about this and if it actually happened, there was a miscommunication somewhere. Only responding to this cos I got love for my superstar @kofi_mole. I don't play games … I'm in or not.”

Ghanaian musician Captain Planet of 4X4 has made an emotional plea to the music industry to take immediate action to support hiplife icon Okomfo Kwadee before it's too late. In a tweet posted on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Captain Planet wrote in a mix of English and Pidgin, "Ghana music industry, make we people do something for Okomfo Kwadee before e go be too late." The plea was prompted by a heartbreaking viral video showing Okomfo Kwadee, once celebrated for his energetic performances and timeless hits, currently in a distressing state, singing some of his old songs. Radio personality Maximous Mensah, better known as Dr. Pounds, also shared the video on Instagram, expressing his concern, “What can we do paaa to help our brother?? Asem oooo so sad! Charely legend! GOD HELP OUR BROTHER," he wrote. In the past, well-meaning individuals, including music producer Abraham Ohene Djan and Evangelist Lord Kenya have attempted to secure medical help for Kwadee.
Universal is shifting around the release dates for two major 2026 movies, one from Steven Spielberg and another from “Everything Everywhere All at Once” directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. Spielberg’s next movie will open on June 12 instead of May 15. It’s taking the place of the Daniels‘ untitled movie, which was taken off the calendar for now.

In 2021, Uganda, like most of other countries was under the Covid-19 induced lockdown and the entertainment was one of the sectors greatly affected by virus as crowds were banned. Artistes were barred from staging public shows until two Nigerian musicians; Omah Ley and Tems visited Uganda for a concert. We later learnt that authorities had given a green light to parties of 200 or people but when Omah Ley posted a picture of himself on his socials, with several Ugandan revelers, both the local artistes and their fan base got furious. Several local artistes, including Bebe Cool took to social media to call out the government, police, and any other authorities to take action by arresting the musicians and the revlers who had attended their show.

Held at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV), the colorful culture night was filled with powerful performances, particularly warrior dances that mirrored the movements used in ancient battles. Imyiyereko, a parade of self-demonstrations, saw dancers imitating warfare techniques, charging towards imaginary enemies with precise footwork and intense expressions.
